We are looking for a highly motivated, creative person with excellent communication and project management skills to join our Exhibitions and Design team.
As Exhibitions and Displays Officer, you will manage the development and delivery of informative, engaging and visitor-focussed special exhibitions, touring exhibitions and displays (permanent galleries). You will work with multi-disciplinary internal project teams as well as external resources to ensure completion of projects to agreed objectives; and you will enjoy working to find solutions and provide expert advice in a highly paced environment.
As an Exhibitions and Displays Officer at National Museums Scotland you will:
- Be responsible for the overall development and delivery of exhibition projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget
- Be responsible for managing multi-disciplinary display and gallery maintenance projects across our sites ensuring effective internal communication and a sound understanding of roles and responsibilities.
- Be responsible for touring National Museums Scotland’s exhibitions to national and international venues and managing relationships with host venues.
- Ensure all exhibitions and displays are based on creative interpretive thinking and practices, ensuring audiences engage with the national collections.
- Ensure effective project, financial and contractor management through applying a sound understanding of National Museums Scotland’s project and procurement methodologies.
- Act as an ambassador for National Museums Scotland with a range of internal and external stakeholders and partners.
