Description

An exhibition at the core of scientific investigation, Universcience decided to follow in the steps of the researchers exploring and studying this fascinating cave. Step into the shoes of scientists and watch the cave paintings come to life as you discover remnants of bears and wolves, traces of fi res, stalactites, and ancient footprints on the ground.

The exhibition offers a fascinating insight into the world of research: the big questions it seeks to answer, the clues it gathers and the tools it employs, ranging from the most sophisticated to the most unexpected. What are the latest findings?

The Chauvet Cave is an outstanding research site, particularly for its cave paintings that have revolutionised our perception of prehistoric art. The Cave is also a site that has remained intact for 21,500 years. Everything you’ll find here dates from the Palaeolithic: the traces are intact. It’s as though bears, wolves, or human beings left just the other day!

This exhibition is not a re-enactment, but rather an immersive experience that plunges visitors into this scientific team’s exciting adventure, through the presentation of the subject matter they study and their scientific tools.

The team brings together a wide range of skills, working together in archaeology, palaeontology, anthropology, molecular biology and geology, as well as statistics, numerical sciences, chemistry and physics.

Another reason this exhibition is so unique is that it is founded on the drastic reduction of its environmental impact.

HIGHLIGHTS:
