As an Exhibitions Project Manager, you are responsible for leading the project management aspects of the process of developing museum exhibitions (i.e. temporary, travelling and permanent exhibitions) and/or other cultural products, with various multidisciplinary teams. You will ensure that all financial management aspects meet operational requirements; ensure that project objectives are met and that project teams comply with the Museum’s strategic and operational requirements, project management best practices, and museological standards for multiple simultaneous projects. You will act as the main contact for needs related to the maintenance and operation of permanent and temporary galleries for the Museum’s.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at all levels;
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure;
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain composure in stressful situations;
  • Ability to influence and engage people of all levels in a variety of formats and situations;
  • Bilingual (French and English).

Relevant experience in:

  • Managing multiple and simultaneous exhibitions and/or cultural products (museum exhibitions, installations, cultural events, etc.);
  • Preparing, monitoring and overseeing budgets and project schedules;
  • Performing qualitative and quantitative assessments, including of overall project performance and risk management;
  • Managing the activities of multidisciplinary project teams in the development, implementation, monitoring and closing of projects;
  • Advising, participating, negotiating and launching various contracts;
  • Preparing and delivering reports and presentations.

Knowledge of:

  • Project management processes and practices;
  • Methods related to the development of cultural projects;
  • Principles of risk management
  • Policies and procedures for public sector procurement
  • MSOffice Suite, MS Project
  • General museology principles
